Buying Tips

As a small business, we want to give you the best selection at the best price. At Joyce & Gendreau Jewelers, we are happy to educate you on high-quality jewelry so you make the right choice.

Diamonds

To reassure our customers that we offer the best diamonds, we refer to the Diamond Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Report. The Diamond GIA report is the premier credential of a diamond’s authenticity.

Gold

Gold is a high-demand and traditional metal that can be found in most every piece of jewelry. If your gold piece is quality, it should be trademarked with either a 14K or 18K. The initials or a company’s logo will indicate its legitimacy.

Colored Stones

Beautiful and unique to each owner, gemstones possess amazing properties. All of the gemstones we sell have been subjected to a stable and undetectable enhancement process. Some examples of treatments are the heating of stones to intensify the color and filling surface inclusions. Whether it’s a color that evokes a certain emotion or a childhood memory, our advice is to find the piece that speaks to you.

Cleaning Your Fine Jewelry

There are certain rules we share with our clients to preserve their special pieces. Avoiding hot tubs and pools with chlorine will prevent the nickel in white gold from breaking down and silver from tarnishing. We recommend removing any gold jewelry when using soap. Most of the time, your gold jewelry can be cleaned with an old toothbrush, a little warm water, and mild ammoniated solution.
